Meeks Bay Resort and Marina
Families love Meeks Bay for its spacious white sandy beach and lakeside picnic areas. The large designated swimming area is accessed easily from the parking lot (which requires a fee). For your convenience Meeks Bay Resort offers onsite food stand, bathrooms, and a full-service retail store where you will find a full assortment of Native American crafts, books, clothing and apparel. Designated barbeque areas can be reserved for small and large groups. Meeks Bay Resort offers kayak and paddleboards for rentals for your enjoyment. The boat dock, snack bar and general store are all handicap accessible. During the peak summer months be sure to get there early to find your perfect spot. The beach is busier then most, but the amenities and easy access make it a winner. If you get there late and the beach parking is full then check out other nearby North Lake Tahoe beaches.
Do you want to stay for more than a day? Accommodations at Meeks Bay range from cozy log cabins and lakefront lodging, to the Washoe House and the historic Kehlet Mansion. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed anywhere in the resort. Visit Meeks Bay — just 25 miles south of Truckee, CA, and 16 miles north of South Lake Tahoe, CA.
