Lake in the Sky Air Show, Chili Cook-off & Car Show

Lake Tahoe Air Festival August 24, 2013
Get ready for daring sky diving stunts, aerobatic performances, and super-fast planes at the annual Lake Tahoe Air Fest. It all comes down at the Lake Tahoe Airport in South Lake Tahoe, CA, on August 24, 2013. This year’s line-up includes thrilling aerobatic performances by Bill Cornick, Jon Melby, and Spencer Suderman. The gates open at 8:00 AM as the Kiwanis Club serves up a delicious pancake breakfast, followed by opening ceremonies at 9:00 AM. A patriotic start is expected with skydivers kicking off the airshow with a presentation featuring the American Flag and our National Anthem.

As one of the largest air festivals in the region there is tons of action in the air as well as on the ground. Peruse vintage warbirds, antique static display aircraft, and general aviation airplanes, plus modern and experimental aircraft. Enjoy an intriguing educational display by NASA, take an exciting helicopter ride, and watch search and rescue demonstrations.

Come to the pre-flight party at The Flight Deck Restaurant. Guest speakers include WWII Triple Ace Bud Anderson and the Pete “Viper” Pettigrew and Mike “Wizzard” McCabe, also known as the Mig Killers. Enjoy food and drink specials, plus live music from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
