Heavenly
A South Lake Tahoe Renaissance The destination that has it all just got more. Heavenly lays claim to Tahoe's biggest and highest mountain playground, the basin's largest snowmaking and grooming operations, panoramic views of Lake Tahoe's famous sapphire-blue waters, abundant resort lodging, round-the-clock Vegas-style gaming, bars and dining, and world-class entertainment, all within steps of the Heavenly Village Gondola.

In December 2007, Heavenly unveiled Olympic Express, a new high-speed quad on the Nevada side of the mountain providing high-speed access to a World Cup-style downhill run and some of the best tree skiing on the planet. Heavenly also cut three new ski trails off Olympic Express, offering guests three different levels of tree-skiing experience. Then, on February 29, 2008, Heavenly opened the Heavenly Flyer, the longest zip line in the continental U.S. The Heavenly Flyer is 3,300 feet long with a 525-foot vertical drop, propelling riders at speeds of up to 50 mph. With a full view of Lake Tahoe, it is also one of the most scenic adventure rides in the entire world.

For winter 2008-09 Heavenly plans to debut two new trails in Ski Ways Glades, a popular tree-skiing area located on the border of California and Nevada, and one new trail in Powderbowl Woods on the California side. Heavenly will also re-grade Skyline Trail, creating easier and faster access to Nevada from the top of Sky Express in California. Also, the West Coast's largest snowmaking system is expanding onto Stagecoach run, increasing the amount of terrain Heavenly can cover with snowmaking to 70 percent.

If you haven't been to South Lake Tahoe recently, you're in for a surprise. The Stateline area has undergone a major facelift, many old businesses and motels have been replaced with a new vibrant village, up-scale lodging and exquisite restaurants. Redevelopment has turned this quirky ski town into a "double-black-diamond" destination. Over a half BILLION dollars have been poured into mountain and village improvements - a gondola, new resort hotels, new lifts, advanced snowmaking and grooming, extensive lodge renovations, a world-class ski school facility, and a family adventure center that lets non-skiers join the high-altitude fun! - Heavenly Valley Press Release 2008-2009
