National Winter trails Day 2012 with the Tahoe Rim Trail
Rhe Tahoe Rim Trail Association will host free guided snowshoe hikes from 10am to 2pm as part of National Winter Trails Day Location is the newly opened Van Sickle State Park right behind Harrah’s Casino. X Country Winter Trails Day at Kirkwood
Location at Kirkwood ski resort. Kirkwood will be hosting "Winter Trails Day” a nation wide event with the goal to expose the public snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Free snowshoe demos will be available through out the day. Kirkwood Cross Country will be offering FREE mini beginning ski lessons, this free package will include lesson and equipment rental, there will be a $16 trail pass charge for that wish to ski after the lesson. The lessons will be on the hour every hour starting at 10am through 2pm,reservations are required. Call 209-258-7248 for more information. Trail passes will also be discounted to $16. |

Hoot 'n Howl at the Moon!
Location at Kirkwood ski resort. Join us for our monthly guided snowshoe trek under the light of the full moon. There is nothing more unique and beautiful than the reflected light of the moon on the snow. Come hoot and howl at the moon! Arrive at 6:00pm. Reservations are required. Sierra Crest Snowshoe Trek
Come enjoy a guided hike into the backcountry beyond the trails of Kirkwood to the high Sierra. This hike climbs to the crest of the Sierra for unbelievable views - it’s a trek not to miss. The journey is open to all levels of experience and physical fitness. Typically we break up into several small groups. This excursion is offered once a month through March. Cost is $30 (includes trail pass and guided hike), plus $5 to rent snowshoes. Please arrive at 10:00AM, and our return is by 3:00PM. Reservations are required.
