Santa's Workshop & Carolers/Dicken's Boys at the Heavenly Village - Heavenly Holidays 2011
Located at the Heavenly Village, 1001 Heavenly Village Way. South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 Phone: (775) 586-7000. Santa’s Workshop created with a 16 foot snow globe. The Snow Globe will host Santa and Elves with blowing snow. Children/Families will go inside of the snow globe to sit on Santa’s lap providing a unique experience and photo opportunities. Carolers & Dicken’s Boys; Large choir ensemble to perform traditional christmas songs. Dicken’s Boys Band will provide roaming entertainment in costume with string and wind instruments. |

Heavenly Holidays Ice Spectacular at the Heavenly Village
Heavenly Village, 1001 Heavenly Village Way, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 Phone: (775) 586-7000. 6PM Opening Act - Ice Sculpting Performance - this is not your ordinary ice sculpting demonstration! This more resembles a Blue Man Group Show loaded with energy, music, light effects and crowd interaction. New Year’s Concert - band or performer TBD from 6:30-9PM. Gondola Drop - One of the Heavenly gondola cars will be decorated and lit so that it is visible from the top of the mountain as it descends to it’s stopping point above the heads of the event attendees. The countdown and gondola will stop at 9PM (East Coast New Year). Fireworks Display - As the east coast new year occurs the evening will end with a firework display being shot overhead and stage from the top of the parking garage. |

A Heavenly New Year Celebration
Sounds of winter holiday music are coming from the practice room at the Lake Tahoe Community College as the combined Tahoe Choir and LTCC chorus prepare for their holiday concerts. This group of more than 50 singers will be performing seasonal music December 3 and 5 under the direction of Linda Mitchell, with Sallie Parker at the piano. The noted Reno quartet, The String Beings, will accompany the choir as they present Antonio Vivaldi's “Gloria.” In addition to this classical piece, the choir will sing “All Through the Night,” “Silver Bells,” “Sleigh Ride” and other well-known favorites. Tickets will be available from choir members and at the door. On Friday, Dec. 3, the group will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the LTCC Duke Theater, 1 College Drive. The Sunday, Dec. 5 matinee performance will be at 3 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1041 Lyons Ave. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission, $8 for students and seniors. Children under age 5 are admitted without charge. |
