Rak Around the World with Namira at the Lake Tahoe Community College
On April 9th, Namira will perform a multi-cultural music and dance show at the Lake Tahoe Community College starting at 7pm. “Rak Around the World” will include music and dance from West Africa, Egypt, Turkey, Hawaii, Tahiti, Latin America, Cuba, Ireland and the Balkans. Is that it? Namira is very passionate about dancing and began her career at age five when her Mother enrolled her in her first Ballet class. She has made a life long commitment to her study of classical ballet as well as Pointe, character ballet, pas de deux, jazz/hip-hop/lyrical dance, Polynesian (Hawaiian and Tahitian), Flamenco and other Latin dances, African, aerials, and gymnastics. 10am - 5pm. Earth Day recognizes, celebrates, and promotes our region’s unique beauty while educating the public about local environmental issues. Bring your friends and family to learn about ways to counteract global climate change through recycling and composting, alternative energy, water conservation, sustainability, and reducing our ecological footprint.
