South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club Easter Egg Hunt
Located at the Lake Tahoe Community College, One College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with the hunt commencing at 11 a.m. with the sound of the fire engine Klaxon. Events include Easter parade, Easter bonnet and Easter costume contests and pictures with the Easter bunny. Close to 3,600 eggs will be hidden by the Easter bunny's helpers. 3 Seven-hour Concert to Benefit Save the Children at Mo's Place
Located at Mo's Place, 3600 Lake Tahoe Blvd. South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. A long evening of music to benefit Save the Children will be held April 3 at Mo's Place, 3600 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe. The seven-hour event begins at 7 p.m. Organizers are requesting a $10 minimum donation at the door, with 100 percent of proceeds going to Save the Children, a worldwide organization that provides a wide range of programs including training community health workers to care for newborns and young children; protecting vulnerable children from abuse and exploitation; helping communities in at-risk countries to be prepared in advance of natural disasters; and improving children's health through regular exercise and nutritious food in the U.S. "Our project goal is to provide a Saturday evening of activity and enjoyment while raising funds to help those children that cannot help themselves," said event organizer Stephanie Warren, a senior year nursing student at Western Nevada College. The event was organized as class project by Warren and her classmates. Donations for raffle prizes are also needed. To donate, call Warren at (530) 545-8447.
