Lake Tahoe Adventure Slide Show Series
Back in its 12th year, the Adventure Slide Show Series is where locals and athletes come together and tell stories of their incredible adventures in the mountains of the world. Many of these shows are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to meet and hear from incredible mountain loving athletes and travellers. All shows are free. Shows start at 7pm and all ages are welcome. The Plaza Bar is located in the Olympic House.

Intro. To Telemark
This day lesson at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort is designed for advanced beginner to low intermediate alpine skiers. We will cover skiing fundamentals including the ever so important balance and stance, wedge turns, wedge christies and basic telemark turns on comfortable, gentle slopes. We will cover the most important skiing fundamentals to have you become the best telemark skier you can possibly be. Our instructors will use a series of clever exercises that have evolved over 30 years of teaching telemark skiing. AIARE Intro. To Avalanche Safety
This is the best way to get started learning the basics of avalanche safety. We spend most of the day on the mountain with "hands-on" learning about the snowpack, terrain, weather, people and the combined effect on avalanche danger. You'll learn about the danger rating system and how to interpret the avalanche bulletin. Very importantly, you will be introduced to travel techniques including how to ski with your team members to help reduce risk. The course also covers an introduction to avalanche safety gear including a transceiver, probe and shovel along with a demonstration of a complete and efficient companion rescue. 6 Chutes and Hikes
The Chutes and Hikes clinic helps the advanced and expert skier and rider get the most out of Squaw’s legendary expert terrain. Access and conquer the steep lines and drops Squaw is famous for. Find the best snow conditions and “secret” lines only the locals know. Using a high energy tactical approach, skiers and riders are encouraged to learn through self-discovery in a fast-paced environment. As conditions permit, groups will hike the Palisades, Mainline Pocket and Granite Peak, and explore the cliffs and chutes of Silverado, KT-22 and other nooks and crannies of the mountain you won’t find on the trail map! Caboose Kickers Terrain Park Competion
Registration is $15 per event and sign-ups start at 9am in the Judah Lodge by the fireplace. Contest begins at 11:00am in the Caboose Terrain Park. 12 Steeps Camp
This expert's course combines high-performance skiing skills with specific techniques to ski long, committing, high-angle descents. At Sugar Bowl, we practice exercises from dynamic parallel, to steep-terrain hop-turns and then finally, "virage saute pedal", the pedal-hop turn. We'll also refine techniques to enter and maintain controlled steep skiing in narrow chutes and couloirs. For Advanced/Expert alpine skiers ready for double black terrain who want to add new dimensions to their skiing.
